Robert and Leighton’s Wedding

St Davids Hotel, Cardiff, South Wales

If you follow my work, you would have seen Robert and Leighton’s awesome engagement shoot at Brecon Railway Mountain. And here’s their beautiful wedding at St Davids Hotel!

Groom Prep

Funnily enough, my last post was about groom prep, and at this wedding, with both grooms getting ready at the same hotel, I was able to photograph the details and getting ready stages by myself. It was a lovely and calm wedding, and such a pleasure to be shooting in an extremely spacious room with Leighton and his bestman.

Robert got ready a few floors lower, which was fab for the skyscapes in the background, and with only one window, we had great directional light to give a more dramatic feel to the photos.

First Look

This was a first for me, although Colette and Gaz did have a few photos before the ceremony, Robert and Leighton actually met before their ceremony, emotions everywhere when they first seen each other for the first time that day, love, love, love!!

After the ceremony, it was rude not to use the balconies at the lobby for a group shot, a big thank you to the guests, you were so easy to gather round! With the lovely weather, we finished the group photos outside the hotel.

Portraits

What a fantastic venue for photos! I loved the architecure, and also the cityscapes with portraits outside. It’s so easy photographing these guys, you can really see the love between them, it helps they had a pre-wedding shoot too, so they were more relaxed in front of the camera, and knew exactly what I was up to during their portraits.
