As a wedding photographer based in Carmarthenshire, it was an honour to have been asked to document Olivia and Ben’s wedding at Mansion House Llansteffan. Especially with Olivia having so many keen photographers in her circle of family and friends, and with Olivia, the bride being a designer too!
Scouting Venues is a no no!
I almost never scout out a new venue before going to the wedding, simply because, I don’t want to be influenced by other wedding photographers’ work on Google Images. I want to create something different for my clients, I guess that’s why they hire me and trust me to photograph their wedding day creatively and uniquely.
Oh so modern
I arrived at Mansion House Llansteffan, and was instantly in awe, the exterior of this wedding venue here in South Wales is beautiful! Having had a quick scout, I ventured inside to be presented with class and elegance, I loved the colour scheme and the light and airy ceremony room. I was excited!
Pre wedding
Because I was at the venue so early, our bride was setting up her handmade pom-poms up in the ceiling with her Dad, the work that had gone into this wedding was amazing! Not to mention, the stationary and designs was only done a week before too!
Chilled out bride
It was so nice to see how relaxed the bride was, chilling out on the bench and checking out the glorious landscapes across to Ferryside (where my wife took the kids for the day funnily enough, it was a shame I couldn’t see them from my ‘office’!)
Bridal Preparations
With Nicola (Makeup by Nicola) as the MUA, it was even more relaxed, as we’ve worked together a few times, which is definitely one of the positives about hiring professional photographers and MUAs. With all her bridesmaids getting ready in the same room, the atmosphere was fab! Bridal portraits were fun, we had to open and close the curtains for a posed shot very quickly, because guests could potentially see the brides wedding dress!
Touching Ceremony
Not only was the ceremony room warm in temperature, it was heart-warming too, I could really see how proud her dad was as he walked up the aisle! After the ceremony, it was group shots by hanging out the window, a serious habit of mine, I do it for the photos, honest!
Bride and Groom Portraits
OMG, where do I start! So many places to take photos, but the sun was so harsh. But we still managed to get some amazing photographs in the sun and the shade too! I couldn’t wait to get inside, so many places to get a photo!
Speeches
Once the wedding breakfast was over, it was time for speeches. This didn’t last too long, plenty of mixed emotions were in the air. Once speeches were over, I couldn’t resist to get photos of the bride and groom with the amazing landscape in. The setting sun and silhouettes made for a different photo to my usual style of photography, and I liked it!
First Dance
Talk about schedule, the first dance was dead on time! Nice one guys, it makes me happy 🙂 definitely my taste in music, so I had no problem joining in with the dancing, woop!
Here’s a selection of the photos from their wedding day, hope you like what you see!
