Should you have a wedding album?

Budget Vs Memories

I hear a lot of people who get married, whether they book with me, or another wedding photographer here in South Wales, they tend to go for the digital wedding packages.  Are they after a deal to suit their budget?  Or are they genuinely going to design their own album?  

Budget

We all love value for money, and always get as much as we can for our money.  The same goes for wedding albums, some design their own with online printing companies, and some just don’t have an album.  If you’re not after a quality album, by all means, print your own, but do they have the built quality to last a lifetime to show your grandchildren?  Or your great grandchildren? 

No Album

Those that are old enough, do you remember 3.5″ floppy drives?  They were the only media that was portable, every computer had them, so it was easy to transfer images from one computer to another.  Then there was CDs and DVDs.  But finding a computer with a floppy disk drive is almost impossible these days.  And it’s rather difficult finding one that has a CD or DVD drive in!  

We have USB’s now, and that’s so much smaller and easier…  but do you think they will be around in 30 years time?  So it’s best to get those wedding photographs printed and framed, or stored on a cloud?

Memories
