As wedding photographer in South Wales, I often get to photograph weddings across South Wales, with Oldwalls being one of them. I’ve not photographed a wedding at Oldwalls before, and all of the sudden, this year, I’ve had quite a few, including second shooting for my fellow South Wales Wedding Photographers too!
Oldwalls Wedding
Here is a wedding I covered at Oldwalls Wedding Venue last time, check it out.
Bridal Preparations
Jess got ready in Oldwalls in the Gower, South wales, so it was nice and easy for me to get around. There was no stress of getting stuck in traffic to churches and wedding venues, plenty of time! I even got some of the ceremony room before photographing Jess, so it was a great time saver.
The Dresses
The bridal suite was busy with bridesmaids, make-up artists and guests. So it was a challenge to get some clean and elegant shots of the wedding dress. This is the part I love about weddings, I love the challenge and pressure to get creative when things get tough. The frosted glass door was used with a bit of back-lighting to bring out the dress with made for a creative photo!
Bridesmaids Dress
Next it was the bridesmaids dress. The bride had already hung them up above the bed, they looked fantastic there. So I moved things around to get a more symmetrical layout.
Bridal Portraits
Due to the lack space, I had to pose Jess in the most awkward position. It was a good job that Jess had a good look through my portfolio. She knew what I was trying to achieve, and was happy to hold a pose for me to photograph – thanks Jess!
Ceremony
Ceremony was, as always, amazing at Oldwalls. The massive floor to ceiling windows letting the natural light flood in, casting the most beautiful light onto the Bride and Groom.
Group photos after the ceremony, followed by portraits, there wasn’t that much time, but I was still managed to get some beautiful photos for Jess and Adam. Because I was there until the evening, I knew I had another opportunity to get more portraits of these guys.
Sunset
Which we did after the speeches, the sun was setting, and the sky was on fire! Couple of guests were passing by who happily assisted me, so if you’re readying this guys, thanks for your help, it was much appreciated 🙂
This wedding was so much fun, and it really helped when a guest asked about my camera. She wanted to have a go at taking photos, so I set the camera up for her to take some dance floor photographs. I left her to it, and grabbed a drink from the bar, and enjoyed the music on the dance floor. If there’s good music, you’ll find me on the dancefloor, palming my work off to a guest haha!
Fireworks
Time flew by, and all of the sudden, it was time for fireworks, it was my first time shooting a couple with fireworks at my own wedding, and the results were amazing! Take some time to scroll through a selection of the photos from the day!
