Winnie and Damien Wedding at Oldwalls, Gower
It’s a first for me to be at two wedding venues when I’m shooting a wedding, but don’t worry, this isn’t because I turned up at thew wrong venue 😀
Our elegant bride Winnie was getting ready at the King Arthur hotel in Reynoldston, Gower, Swansea, turning up at the hotel to a nice and relaxed atmosphere was a bliss, I don’t usually get a chance to use this particular room when I photograph weddings at this Swansea wedding venue, so it was a nice change to have so much time here at The King Arthur Hotel. I loved the bridal suite too, it gave the chance to create some really creative shots of this gorgeous wedding dress the bride had.
Farhana Ali was the wedding make up artist this morning, it was my first time working with her, and it was such a pleasure, she knew what made great photos, and would hold poses for me without me asking – reading my mind! Whilst I talk about awesome people, the bridesmaids were exactly that too, I was about to set up their dresses for a photo, turned around, and one of them had done it already! Thank you if you’re reading this!
The ceremony was held at Llanrhidian Church, St Rhydian, this was such a relaxed church, I highly recommend getting married here if you’re after a church wedding in the Gower, photography rules were very relaxed and I was able to go round getting the best possible angles for the bride and groom, the light at this venue was gorgeous too!

After the ceremony, it was a few stops before we got to Oldwalls, first was Woebley Castle, Llanrhidian, we then headed over to Llangennith Beach to meet their resident pet dog. Winnie wanted to get photos on the beach initially, but because of the rain beforehand, and the steep climb before the beach, she decided to cancel. But I couldn’t leave without a quick photo, so we got a photo in the middle of the car park, check out the before and after photo below.
Once we got back to Oldwalls, it was time to get the groups, candids and photograph the wedding breakfast details too. All in all, it was a fantastic wedding, with plenty of opportunities to get some amazing photos, and we finished it off nicely in the blue hour, shooting a creative and romantic photograph for the bride and groom to cherish forever!
