My first wedding as a wedding photographer in Cotswolds, England. I can get used to photographing weddings in Cotswolds, the area is beautiful, and it’s not too far to drive from South Wales.
Scouting the Venue
I have always said, there’s no need to scout a venue before the day, simply because the weather will change, the light will change, and even building work could be in progress!
The weather was dry and even had some sun when I arrived, so I took the opportunity to walk around the venue, and discovered the amazing gardens! Wow.. I was walking around, and seen to many photographic opportunities – I was excited!
Bridal Prep
There was plenty of room for everyone to get ready, Getting details of everything was easy, one of the bridesmaids had laid everything out for me!
Groom Prep
Kevin was getting ready just a few doors down! So it was easy for me to photograph the groom preparations too!
Ceremony
The ceremony was held in one of the rooms upstairs, the name escapes me… comment below if you were a guest at the wedding and remember that name! lol. I’d seen the room before they had set it up. And seeing it again once it had been decorated was incredible, it was such a romantic setting, I especially loved all the fairy lights above.
With the window behind the newlyweds during the signing of the registrar, it was not the most flattering, so I decided to place them on the other side of the table, the results were fantastic! A first for me, and given the opportunity, I will definitely do it again 🙂
Formal Group Portraits
Oh no, it has started raining!! Totally gutted, I had so much planned for the gardens, nevermind, we can never plan for this UK weather! After a quick wander around the venue, I decided to set up some studio lights in the drawing room for the formal portraits, I definitely chose the right room in it, the colours of the room were so vibrant, reflecting the mood of the day!
Couple Photohoot
With time against us, we didn’t get much opportunity to photograph the bride and groom on their own, but that was fine, as I was here all day. So after the emotional and touching speeches, it was time to get some portraits of the newlyweds. All indoors, and with Manor House’s grand interior, we had some fantastic photos for Deirdre and Kevin!
Slideshow
For the first time ever, I decided to put on a slideshow of the wedding day for all to see, it’s a great opportunity to see what the couple had been upto until this time. With the slideshow filled with creative and emotional photos, I was told it was the first time the bride had cried that day, Awww 🙂 I love how my photographs can touch ones soul.
