Llancaiach Fawr Manor, Newport Wedding Photographer
Danny & Leanne’s Wedding in South Wales
I was at Llancaiach Mawr Manor at Newport for Danny and Leanne’s wedding, this was also my last wedding for 2013! Bit of an early finish for the wedding season for me this year, in October, I’m always excited about Winter Weddings, I just love the gorgeous and gentle light a winter sun can give me (although we didn’t get any this time!).
Bridal preparations was situated in a lovely intimate Bed & Breakfast not far from the hotel, turning up at the B&B, the rain had already started, not to worry! There’s always a plan for the rain. What I didn’t expect though, was the Groom was also getting ready here, it was good fun locking the Groom in whatever room he was in, so that our Bride can freely go from room to room J It’s a good job I was around to stop the Bride and Groom from bumping into each other!
After photographing all the little details of the Bride’s dress, shoes, jewellery and every little thing that has meaning to her, it was time to make a move to Llancaiach Mawr Manor.
After the beautiful and emotional ceremony, it was time for group shots, looking at the dark clouds, my lighting gear came out to light up the beautiful faces of Danny and Leanne’s guests. Once it was time for the Bride and Groom’s portrait, the rain had started, out came the heart shaped umbrella, and some creative flash photography backlighting our Bride and Groom in the rain creating some romantic portraiture for their collection.
Before we knew it, it was time for their wedding breakfast, and I am honoured to let you know that I had the pleasure to sit with the guests, one of which was a Tom Jones impersonator – result! Furthermore, I had a lovely mention at the speeches, along with a lovely gift, thank you guys!
Although sitting and mingling with guests, I’m still working, and always kept one eye out the window looking for a dry spell.. and there it was, off to take my Bride and Groom outside for a quick 5 minute shoot turned into 20, resulting in some truly creative and beautiful portraits for the lovely newlyweds.
Not long after, we had the opportunity to shoot at the Manor, where the whole mansion was setup like it was in the 17th Century. Upon leaving the Manor, it was pouring down with rain! Fantastic, I thought! So it was a simple setup to create a jaw-dropping image with the Manor light up in the rain with the Bride and Groom kissing in the rain. One of my favourite photographs of 2013!
Later in the evening, it was time for the Llancaiach Fawr Manor Ghost Tour around the Manor!! I was invited as a guest, and no camera’s were allowed, so unfortunately, I am unable to provide photographs of the tour.
Take a look at some of my favourite images from their wedding in Llancaiach Mawr Manor!
