Wow.. where do I start? What a fun wedding!
Secret Garden – Oxwich Bay Hotel
When there are 10 bridesmaids getting ready together, you can imagine how busy it can get in a bridal suite! Not for this wedding! Thanks for Oxwich Bay’s new Secret Garden, there were several modern pods for Siani’s bridemaids to get ready. With the pods being just meters apart, it was easy to get
photos of all the bridesmaids getting ready!
Planning
Who cares if it’s raining, plan ahead and all will be ok. And plan they did, umbrellas everywhere for
everywone and getting up early to decorate the venue. The amount of times I’ve photographed a wedding at
Oxwich Bay, I can hoenstly say, I’ve not seen so much time and effort has been put into decorating this
venue. The marquee was totally transformed. Magical.
Ceremony
Beautiful ceremony held at Oxwich Bay Hotel, I must add, the registrar’s here are so accommodating, they
are always a pleasure to work with. Love and laughter filled the room. You could really see the love
between this husband and wife!
No Groups
This is my first ever wedding where I didn’t do any formal group photos. But that didn’t mean I didn’t go
around taking photos with the newlyweds with their friends and family! I went round getting candid photos
of the guests, as well as unposed and unformal group shots of everyone. I must say, I did feel as if I
was missing a left arm! But who cares, the bride and groom were more than happy with relaxed group
photos, and the guests as well as the bride and groom had more time to enjoy, and they didn’t have to
stand around waiting to be called into a group photo, plus, I didn’t have to convince Auntie May to stop
hiding behind other family members, result!
Bride and Groom Portraits
So the bride and groom didn’t want any posed photos.. oh no! Definitely out of my comfort zone! How can I
deliver photos without having a portrait of the bride and groom? What are they going to show their
children? What about photos on display? They decided to get their photos in the end, and thankful too,
not only did it mean they’d have the photos they actually wanted, but it meant they had time together too,
time away from guests, and quiet time as a married couple 🙂
