Tell us how you first met? who what when where why? give us the dirty details.
Emma – Good question we met nearly seven years ago. We went to a dive of a pub in Plumstead but we just clicked and even that pub could not put us off each other.
Crystal – Emma and I met in an online chat room. We had been talking for a little while and then decided to meet up. We went to a pub local to where I lived at the time. I hadn’t really been to the pub before, but it had a pool table, so if we were struggling with conversation, we could just play pool and have no awkward silences! After a few drinks, Emma gave me a lift to my house, we said bye, and that was it. I later learned that she thought the pub was a dive and that she hated my clothes and hair colour (pink)! I must have done something right though as she kept coming back 🙂
When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.
Emma – Crystal did up my bedroom at my mums house. She built me a wardrobe, painted the walls and cleared it out. For any normal person a couple of days this she dragged on for a couple of weeks plus just so she could spend time with me. Which I always said I would pay for the finish job (I never did).
Crystal – I knew Emma was ‘the one’ before we officially were a couple. We were friends (with benefits) for around a year before being a couple. I had stayed the night at Emma’s and she was driving me home the next day. Whist waiting at traffic lights I made a bit of a dirty/saucy comment, she smiled at me, slapped my thigh and said ‘get out of it’. That’s when I knew I would marry her.
Tell us about the proposal.
Emma – I had been planning on proposing to Crystal for a while. When we found out our friends in the USA were getting married and we were invited I knew that it would be a once in a life time trip and that was where I was going to pop the question. We went to Vegas and before we went I spent all my time looking up romantic ways to propose in Vegas. I was thinking in a helicopter over the grand canyon but there would be other people there so ruled that out then I remembered when Crystal applied for “don’t tell the bride” (yea I know its another story and there is not enough space to tell you here lol) she said I proposed up the Eiffel tower when I took her to Paris a few years back, I did take her there but obviously I did not propose. Anyway I heard about the Eiffel Tower in Vegas which looks over the strip and at night you see the Bellagio fountains which is fountains with lights and music it is amazing. Anyway I took her to the top of this tower and it was really packed I think everyone had the same idea about watching the fountains from there. I spent the time up there trying to show Crystal the fountains between peoples legs. This was not romantic. When the fountains finished people started to go and Crystal response was “shall we go now” I replied with “noooo lets look at the views” She was then taking in the sights of Vegas whilst I was telling her how amazing she was and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her she completely missed the fact I was down on one knee and only turned to look at me when she felt me tugging at her top. Anyway you know the answer. We continued our evening then later went back to our hotel room when Crystal got down on one knee and she had a ring for me stating that she was going to ask me but I beat her to it. The strangest thing was that our rings we bought each other were nearly the same ring. Great minds think alike. 🙂
Crystal – A few weeks before we were going to Las Vegas I decided I had waited long enough for Emma to propose. I asked my brother to come ring shopping with me. I was so nervous just buying the ring that I was actually shaking. I thought buying it would be the easy part. I was wrong. We got the Vegas and I had no idea how to ask her or where to ask her. I thought I would leave it in my suitcase and whilst out, I would find somewhere to do it, go back and get the ring, then return to the place I had found. We went to the Italian section on the strip and I saw the gondolas, perfect. I thought I would get Emma back there the next day and that would be it. That same night we walked past the Paris section with the Eiffel Tower. Emma took me up to the top. It was so crowded. You had a great view of the Bellagio dancing water fountains, but it was way to crowded to see them. As soon as they finished, everyone started making there way back down. I said to Emma, should we go? Emma said, no, lets just look at the views for a bit. So I did. Emma was talking to me but I was too busy looking at all the lights from the strip to listen to her. The next thing I feel is emma tugging at my top. I looked down and she was on her knee with the most gorgeous ring. I grabbed it and put it straight on. It was amazing. We then left the Paris section and made our way back to our hotel room. We were staying in the Luxor, which was about 15 minutes away. I just kept thinking, what do I do with her ring? How do I give it to her? We got back and I went straight to my suitcase, got out her ring (which was very similar to the one she got me) got on my knee and said to Emma, will you marry me too? It was lovely.
Tell is the one thing you love most about each other.
Emma – What I love about Crystal. She is the kindest person I know. If anyone (and I mean anyone) needs anything she will do her hardest to help then get it. And she rubbing of at me and I am becoming kinder. Very trusting and to top all this off she is beautiful.
Crystal – It’s hard to pick what I love most about Emma. She is everything. If I had to pick one thing, it would have to be how understanding she is. She cares and helps me so much. She would never judge me. She’s just perfect.
Besides getting married – whats the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
Emma – Seeing Crystal for the first time as we would not have seen each other from the night before till 4pm when she walks down the isle.
Crystal – On the wedding day I was looking forward to just seeing everyone. Some of our guests I hadn’t seen in over a year. It felt amazing that our friends and family made such an effort in travelling to Craig-Y-Nos, just to be with Emma and I. We have such amazing friends and families.
