Today, I had the honour of photographing a glamorous wedding in the centre of Cardiff, South Wales. National Museum Wales, situated in the heart of Cardiff with a grand setting, it can only mean stunning wedding photography.

Ceremony at the National Museum Wales

Today’s wedding’s brief was to document only, Teej wanted a relaxed coverage to tell her story of the wedding day as it unfolds. So the ceremony was in one of the Art Galleries on the upper floor of Cardiff Museum, it’s my first time photographing a wedding here, and I couldn’t wait to get started!

I’ve documented a few weddings where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony, and this was another. It was lovely to see how relaxed and calm Teej and Dave were before the ceremony. I have to say, the registrars here were a delight to work with too, I was ok to move around wherever I wanted, which meant the bride and groom could get photos of their beautiful ceremony from different angles.

Around the Musuem

Usually, I’d be photographing the group photos after the ceremony, but none of that was required today, so it was just candid photographs followed by portraits around Cardiff Museum. I could have spent all day photographing this couple, one because this venue was just amazing, and two, this couple were so relaxed and easy going!

Speeches then First Dance!

Wow! This was the fastest transition from speeches to first dance ever! It was so quick, I had to rush over to setup my lights for the first dance as soon as the speeches were over. My lights fell over too, boo!! Luckily, these were professional pieces of kit, and could take a knock or two – phew!

Private Tour

The children at the wedding were offered a tour of the museum, naturally, a few adults and the bride and groom went along too, how could I refuse! So interesting! Having a guided tour really makes a difference, but not only that, it gave us some more photo opportunities too! Can you tell I love my job? haha.
