Jenny and Thomas’ Caerphilly Castle Wedding
I’ve had the absolute pleasure to have been asked to photograph this Caerphilly Castle Wedding here in South Wales, Jenny and Thomas had booked well in advance, and with Caerphilly Castle being my first wedding (at the location – not first ever wedding!) , and also my first visit, I was really looking forward to creating some amazing wedding photos for this lovely couple.
Bridal Preparations was held at Manor Parc, Thornhill in Cardiff, so we had a blank canvas, so to speak.. but me being me, I had to rearrange furniture to make sure I had the best photos… so 5 minutes within walking into the bridal suite, I got the father of the bride to help me move the sofa out of the way Haha – thanks Dad if you’re reading this 🙂
So once we were done, it was time to get ready for the drive to Caerphilly Castle, I decided to follow the bridal car, who was driving round and round, which seemed like he was lost, but I figured in the end it was to avoid the unusually slow traffic. We got to Caerphilly Castle, and found out that the Registrar hadn’t turned up yet, there was a car accident, and she was stuck in that traffic.. almost an hour late, but that gave time for Jenny to relax and compose herself – things happen for a reason 🙂
The ceremony went on smoothly, and no photography restrictions, which was an absolute pleasure 🙂
As the weather was absolutely scorching, we had a quick walk down towards the bridal cars, but on the way, we naturally stopped for some bride and groom portraits around the Castle, Jenny and Thomas seemed right at home looking like the King and Queen of Caerphilly Castle!
Speeches were fab, so funny, and none of them were Googled! ha.. as a Wedding Photographer, I hear a lot of spgalleryeeches, and many of them similar. Father of the Groom’s speech even made me laugh out loud behind my camera haha.. Oh, I also had a mention in the speeches from the father of the Bride too – woop, it makes me happy and feel important <3
Anyway, I couldn’t wait for the speeches to end… why? Because I get to go out for portraits with the bride and groom again! And this time the sun was setting, and the evening sky was on fire! I spent a lot longer than I usually do, as Jenny and Thomas felt that the most important thing from their wedding day was their wedding photos, as that’s the thing they’ll have to remember for the rest of their lives – No pressure then guys! haha.
With the Registrar running late, and me spending more time on photos, first dance was late, and I didn’t leave until 10pm! Not to worry, there was an awesome hog roast to keep me going!
Don’t forget to leave a comment below, enjoy the photos 🙂
