Ashburnham Hotel Wedding
Silke and Ben first approached me after seeing me in action at Rachel and Antoni’s Wedding, they originally wanted to get photos from guests cameras and mobile phones, but had changed their mind when they’d seen me in action. Gathering group shots, or was it generally shouting at guests? HAHA… Although I didn’t need to shout at Silke and Ben’s wedding guests, thanks to Scott Guitarist who lent me his microphone – thanks Scott!
Bridal Prep at Ashburnham Hotel
Silke got ready at the Ashburnham Hotel, with the ceremony also at the hotel meant everything was in one place. So I had the opportunity to wander around the hotel and capture guests arriving and some photos of the Groom Ben getting ready.
Walking into see our bride, it was lovely to see she was nice and calm, it probably helped that Jayne from Colour Me Perfect is such a professional and everything was going smoothly!
The Groomsmen
Seeing as I was already at the hotel, I was able to pop down to see Ben. We got some cracking portraits of Ben getting ready, and reservoir dogs style photos of him and his groomsmen too. This meant, I was able to photograph the wedding rings in the morning too!
Ceremony at Ashburnham Hotel
With everyone ready, it was time for the ceremony, it was so nice seeing how excited Silke and Ben was to see each other! If this was a cartoon, there’d be hearts floating around them!
Formal Group Photos
Although I call them formal group photos, they’re not THAT formal, I don’t get all the guests standing in a row like seargent major, I try to keep it relaxed and fun. We had a nice dry spell for group photos outside, and as fate has it, it stayed dry for the entire series of group photos, well… it did start picking a little towards the last group photo, but nothing major – phew!
Bride and Groom Portraits
Fortunately for me, I’m not a ‘natural light photographer’, I do love naural light, and I do use it at weddings. But I’m also able to use studio lights, and get creative with light, producing modern and elegant photos inside when it’s raining! Luckily though, after a while, it had stopped raining again, so we were able to get some stunning and dramatic portraits outside!
Wedding Photographer South Wales
The rest of the evening when so smoothly, with the hillarious speeches over, we went outside again. Then it was back inside photographing more candids of guests enjoying. Also met a a couple of previous brides too, it was lovely to see Jo, who got married at King Arhut Hotel, and also Jodie who got married at Stradey Park Hotel.
With Steve at the stage singing the night away, it was time for first dance before we knew it! With Celebration Station’s awesome DJ-ing, the dancefloor was packed to end the night!
